photography, to me, is about seeing and feeling: clearing the mind; immersing yourself in the moment and really observing what’s around you. Allowing yourself time and space to explore; giving the heart and soul a chance to settle and letting creative possibilities reveal themselves.
Architecture...
photography, to me, is as much about indulging my love of history as it is about showcasing the splendour of the built environment: most of the buildings and other man-made structures I photograph are from a bygone age. But, whether stepping back to take in the whole form or zooming-in to focus on the finer detail, I strive to make the architecture the main subject of the image.
Street...
photography, to me, is about watching and waiting: standing back; observing human nature and anticipating the moment. Finding the perfect view point; blending into the background and looking for the candid opportunity.
Travel...
photography, to me, is about capturing the essence of a foreign country: it’s people, places, history and culture. As such it combines many of the elements found in my other photographic subjects: Landscape, Architecture and Street….but with a few additional challenges due to time and place.
